A COUP COULD BE UNFOLDING RIGHT NOW IN BURKINA FASO

Heavy gunfire has been reported in the capital Ouagadougou and from their main military camp. The national TV news channel (The Burkina Radio and Television Broadcasting Company -RTB) is also off air. This similar circumstance led to a coup in January 2022 by a Junta under Lieutenant-colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba but the security situation has not improved

There has also been reports of heavy army presence in the capital and some major roads have been blocked and public transport is also suspended.

The situation has been confusing since this morning in the capital of Burkina Faso, where soldiers were deployed overnight around strategic points in the city like the United Nations traffic circle. theafricareport says the President, Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba is in the capital and is doing well, according to his relatives.

The recent incident has led to the death of 11 soldiers and about 50 civilians missing in what is expected to be a terrorist attack. Reports on twitter says search is ongoing to find the missing people.
