Natives of Japekrom in US, UK donate GHS15k to gunshot victims
Citizens of Mpuasu-Japekrom in the U.S. and U.K. donated an amount of over GHS 15,000 to support victims of the 17 October 2018 Japekrom shooting.
The victims, numbering over 65 sustained various degrees of injuries during a shooting incident by some assailants who took positions inside a story building at an area called New Drobo at Japekrom.
The shooting resulted in the deaths of the Mmrantehene of Japekrom, a one-year-old baby and a 14-year-old Senior High School (SHS) student.
The donation is to support in the payment of medical bills for the treatment of victims with serious injuries. The donation was made by Nana Kwaku Yeboah, a representative of the group on Sunday, 17 March 2019, at the palace of the Omanhene of the Mpuasu-Japekrom Traditional Area.
The Omanhene thanked natives living abroad for their concern and generous donation towards the payment of bills of their fellow kinsmen.
