A way forward for peaceful co-existence and the development of Jaman South District
Backdrop
Mpuasu-Japekrom Traditional Area is one of the Paramount areas in the Jaman South District of Brong-Ahafo Region. The traditional area has an estimated population of 110000 and shares boundaries with Berekum Stool lands in the South at Nkwadusuam, Dormaa Stool lands to the South-West, Awasu Stool lands in the East and North-East, Adamsu in the North and the Republique De La Cote D’Ivoire in the North-West.
The people originally migrated, under the female leadership of Nana Takyiwaa Bansua, from Akwamu Awanwenso and belong to the Aduana Clan. They first settled at Esumegya, Asantemanso, Suntreso, Abanpreduase, Bomaa.Fetentaa and finally at Mpuasu, from where new settlements were established
The traditional capital and seat of the Omanhene is Japekrom which is located in the centre of the traditional area and is part of the Jaman South District capital.
